Nicholsons was founded over 40 years ago and has grown to form a community of almost 200 passionate and professional consultants and contractors, delivering expert advice and quality results in landscapes & gardens, forestry, woodland & tree management and ecology services.

Through these initiatives, Nicholsons not only endeavours to leave a lasting positive impact on the environment but also strives to build enduring partnerships grounded in shared values and collective success.
In November 2025, Nicholsons became an Employee-Owned Trust to retain the family values and ethos as the roles of our founders, Liz and Niel, evolve within Nicholsons’ Board of Directors.
This means that Nicholsons is owned by a Trust on behalf of the employees and has the following structure:
Nicholsons’ Trust Board ensures the financial resilience and commercial success of the company, acting as representatives of all employees at Nicholsons.
Nicholsons’ Board of Directors are responsible for the overarching strategy and business direction and oversees the senior leadership teams.
The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the commercial and operational outcomes of the business.
Nicholsons’ Committees provide opportunities for structured collaboration on key business functions such as health and safety and quality.
The Nicholsons’ Green Team has a shared responsibility to do their best work, prioritise client care and the health of our planet, whilst directly benefitting from the successful performance of the business, without the personal liability or risk.

If the initial phone call is successful, you will be invited to an in‑person interview to discuss the role in more detail and explore how your knowledge, skills and experience align with its requirements.
To help you gain a deeper understanding of the company, the department and the role, you will be invited to attend a trial morning/shift where you can experience the responsibilities firsthand.
You may then be asked to complete a task designed to assess the skills relevant to the role.
Once references have successfully be obtained, we will send you a formal employment offer and look forward to welcoming you to the Green Team.
