Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment for urban extension in Conservation Area

A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) was undertaken for land south of Boars Tye Road, Silver End, on behalf of M Scott Properties Ltd. The assessment aimed to understand the site’s landscape and visual character, as well as key constraints and opportunities. Existing agricultural land use was redesigned to create a small residential extension to the existing settlement of Silver End, Essex. A robust woodland edge was proposed to create an attractive green setting to the settlement edge, utilising local species to retain the character of the wider landscape setting and providing opportunities for habitat creation. The addition of street tree planting, including avenue planting, was proposed to reflect the early 20th-century streetscene within the Conservation Area of Silver End.
