Nicholsons is proud to announce that our Ecology Team has been recognised as Highly Commended in the Small Consultancy of the Year category at the prestigious CIEEM Awards 2026.

Organised by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), the annual awards celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership across the ecology and environmental management sector. The Small Consultancy of the Year category recognises organisations that demonstrate outstanding technical expertise, client service, professional integrity and positive environmental impact.

While the award was ultimately won by Keystone Environmental Ltd., we were delighted to receive the Highly Commended recognition alongside so many respected ecology consultancies from across the UK.

This achievement reflects the dedication, expertise and passion of our ecology specialists, who work alongside clients, planners, developers, landowners and project teams to deliver meaningful outcomes for people, places and nature.

Our ecological consultancy services support projects across a wide range of sectors, helping clients navigate environmental challenges, deliver biodiversity gains and create sustainable solutions that balance development with the needs of the natural environment.

Being recognised by CIEEM is particularly significant because it reflects not only the quality of our technical work, but also our commitment to collaboration, professional excellence and positive environmental outcomes.

For those interested in learning more about the award and the organisations recognised this year, you can read the official CIEEM Awards booklet here.

Beyond the awards themselves, the event provided an opportunity to connect with fellow ecologists, environmental professionals and industry leaders who are helping shape the future of the sector.

Recognition such as this would not be possible without the trust and support of our clients, project partners and collaborators. We are grateful to work alongside organisations that share our ambition to create lasting value for communities, landscapes and biodiversity.

We would also like to thank CIEEM for hosting such an excellent event and congratulate Keystone Environmental Ltd. on their well-deserved success.

As our Ecology Team continues to grow, we remain committed to delivering high-quality ecological consultancy services that support sustainable development and positive environmental outcomes across the UK.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far. We look forward to continuing the work.
