Nestled in the grounds of Barton Court Estate near Hungerford is Spinney House, part of the Hillcrest Children’s Services, which provides a therapeutic home for 5 children aged 7-9 years old. The children live there 52 weeks a year and all have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. There are also two alternating staff teams, who live with the children in the home -so it really is ‘their home’.
One member of the team used to work at the Pegasus Primary School where Nicholsons had created a new garden a few years ago. She contacted us to see if we would be able to help them create a garden for the children at Spinney House.
And that is just what we did.
We like to ensure all members of our own team have the opportunity to be involved with our charitable works, so we sent one team member from the Softworks Department and another from our Accounts Department! Evidently, they were a great hit;
What an amazing job Owen and Martin did today – we all enjoyed having them around today and the kids loved them! We are so so pleased with it and the children were absolutely delighted when they returned from school to see the new magical areas. They are very keen for the fruit to grow 🙂
I really can’t thank you all enough for being so generous to us -we are so appreciative.
