Vicky Clifton
Vicky CliftonRetail Manager
plantcentre@nicholsonsgb.com

Vicky joined Nicholsons in 2019, as a career change from selling toys for 20 years, to follow an enjoyment of horticulture. Vicky enjoyed furthering her education by studying for her RHS Level 2 here at Nicholsons, and using this knowledge, she now takes great pleasure in advising customers on their plant choices. Her particular interests are herbaceous perennials and roses. These are perfect plants for gardening beginners, and with a wide variety of plants available on the nursery, Vicky will always be able to find something to excite and delight you.

Favourite plant: Rose Gertrude Jekyll, stunning scent and long-flowering period, with hot pink blooms.

Libby Reeves
Libby ReevesHorticultural Consultant
Libby@nicholsonsgb.com | Ext 0321

Libby’s interest in plants came about after a field course whilst studying biology at UCL, which inspired her to undertake a yearlong traineeship in wildlife habitat management. During this time, Libby discovered her real passion lay with trees and, after working in several stunning gardens (doing everything from herbaceous borders to chainsaw work), she joined the Nicholsons team in 2018. Her main motivation was to share the knowledge she had gained to help people in their own gardens, as well as to use the horticultural challenges presented by clients as a way to develop her learning and understanding further. Libby has a particular affinity with fruit trees, but loves to help everyone who comes in with whatever they bring. She offers a free consultation service here at Nicholsons plants, everyone is welcome! Please feel free to email her at libby@nicholsonsgb.com for further information.

Favourite tree: Apple Greensleeves is a gorgeous big green apple, crisp and tangy with what I can only describe as an amazing depth of flavour. Closely followed by Pear Doyenne du Comice which is sweet, juicy and better than any cake or biscuit I have ever had!

Contact Ella if you’d like to offer your feedback.

Favourite Tree: Prunus x subhirtella ‘Autumnalis Rosea’ – it has shiny bronze bark, ovate green leaves which have vivid autumn colour followed by stunning pale pink blossoms through late autumn and the early spring, making this tree a joyous sign of life during times of mass dormancy.

Phil Brunskill
Phil BrunskillSales Process Manager
philb@nicholsonsgb.com | Ext 0340

Phil started his career at Nicholsons in September 2019, after deciding to make a career change, previously working for almost 20 years in the plant and tool hire industry. A developing passion for gardening and plants prompted him to pursue a level 2 RHS course in practical horticulture. He is also currently studying level 2 RHS theory on site here at Nicholsons and finds the subject fascinating and rewarding.

Favourite plant: Ensete ventricosum ‘Maurelii’- Red Abyssinian banana, although not a true banana, it is an amazing structural plant that adds a tropical feel to the garden. Although needing winter protection, it’s worth the effort as it will grow back at an astonishing rate during the summer months, with huge red foliage that looks stunning when the sun shines through the leaves.

Favourite plant: Medlar tree, Mespilus germanica because it ticks so many boxes; beautiful flowers, edible fruit, lush green leaves, autumn colour, small and easy to look after.

Favourite Rosara Furniture Range: The beautiful Bruern collection. The Bruern designed by Liz Nicholson is an elegant living set with a simple cross back and gentle curves.
