Tree Pollarding is the practice of removing upper limbs of certain tree species, to create fresh young growth from the main stem. Whilst not typically undertaken today for the demands of fodder and wood, the process is still encouraged for reasons of landscaping, biodiversity, and stabilising of riverbanks – along which many willow pollards are found today.
Nicholsons continues to support clients in pollarding and re-pollarding their tree stocks, with our Tree Surgery team particularly suited to undertake more complex and sensitive works where access, public highways and public safety are constraining factors. Mature pollards can typically be managed by larger cutting machinery.
Our Tree Surgery & Forestry Team at Nicholsons will be able to advise you fully on any tree pollarding project, and arrange and undertake works as required.
If you would like to enquire about our tree pollarding services, please email the team at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also provide a full Tree Surgery and Woodland Management service, operating throughout the Home Counties and Midlands, and we will consider jobs further afield dependent on the scale and nature of the work.
Nicholsons is an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor.
