Nicholsons Service – Woodland Management Planning
Woodland Management Plans enable long term woodland work programmes, giving good opportunity to maximise a client’s objectives. Nicholsons Forestry prepares plans for small and large woodland holdings, and secure grant aid to support this process where appropriate.
The Woodland Management Plan forms the point of reference for a client’s woodlands. It draws together all the pertinent information held on them, with the resulting recommendations for action covering a 20 year+ period. It is a dynamic planning document, which our clients value. Supported by our high quality electronic maps, we are able to present complex proposals beautifully and to plan work phasing and budget planning well into the future.
Woodland Management Plans also allow for long term thinning and felling permissions to be secured, which in turn permits a degree of flexibility in the phasing of work.
Woodland Management Plans are now essential for those clients wishing to secure woodland grant aid or take advantage of the Renewable Heat Incentive. Nicholsons can give advice regarding sustainable wood production and production forecasts that are usually required when considering biomass heating systems. We have experience in the extraction, stacking and air drying of chip-wood for use in biomass boilers.
Nicholsons Forestry are also able to assist in Land Registration with the Rural Payments Agency. This is a requirement for any Land-based grant schemes offered by the Government.
